When to use the Web for research

There is a wealth of information on all sorts of things on the web. Here are just a few examples of when the Web is a great place to begin looking for information:

To learn more about companies, universities, government agencies, non-profit groups, museums, and other organizations
To locate facts and data
To find current information, such as the latest news reports, weather forecasts, sports scores, or stock quotes
To use a variety of services, such as travel reservations, shopping, auctions, employment listings, and directory listings
To research a prominent individual
To locate information not easily found in published sources
