Directories come in many shapes and forms, and
generally list contact information (addresses, phone numbers, e-mail addresses,
URL's) for people, organizations, and/or businesses. In addition to basic
contact information many directories include brief entries which further
describe the person, organization or business. For example, The Encyclopedia
of Associations includes information such as the date of founding of the
association, number of members, and publications; and Who's Who in America
provides a brief biographical entry which includes the individual's educational
history, professional affiliations, and family information. Examples of other
directories are National Faculty Directory, The Official Museum Directory, and
Directory of Medical &; Dental Schools Worldwide.
